Baabda Aley MP’s

Rumor has it that yet another Baabda Aley MP is dying. Druze representative Ayman Shokeir, whose father was the chief of staff of the Syrian army if I remember correctly, is dying of cancer. I heard somewhere that he is already dead, but that does not seem to be confirmed yet. As was the case with Edmond Naim, the vultures are already preparing their attacks. Will there also be a consensus candidate this time around? This seems likely, considering the paralysis of the February 14 team these days. Of course, the extreme case is if Aoun intentionally chooses someone like Talal Arslan or even Wiam Wahhab, to coerce them into having elections.

This was to be expected in Lebanon's gerontocracy. We are a young country, yet our MPs are very old.

This time, I hope that Aoun will wait for Shokeir to be burried before he begins his campaign .

We also hope that no more Lebanese political leaders will pay tribute to Syrian Military Intelligence leaders for their "service" to Lebanon, but hey, life doesn't always turn out the way you want it to.
